This course is designed for students who read and write at 9th grade level in language arts. The curriculum of this course is designed to prepare students for success in their high school academic work and for further education after high school. Students placed in this course may have an eventual goal of college/university, a community college, or pursue a vocational course of study. The course is a comprehensive English course. Critical reading, composition and grammar instruction, listening and speaking skills and vocabulary improvement strategies will be embedded within the course of study. Students who perform poorly in this course will have their placement reviewed.
